I once was, but I made it through, and now I want to help you do the same.
The Premise
In my newly revised FREE ebook, There’s Sunshine Behind the Clouds: Surviving the Early Years as a Special Needs Mom, I share my personal insights as the mother of not one, but two children with special needs. When my daughter was born with cerebral palsy, I read everything I could get my hands on about the condition, but struggled with the clinical-speak and dire predictions. I didn’t want to read about all of the bad things that might happen.
I wanted to know I wasn’t alone and that things would get better.
Seven years after my daughter was born with cerebral palsy, my son was born with Down syndrome, and I found that although the two conditions were very different, much of the experience of being a mom to a little one with special needs was universal. Since I never found that book I had searched for, I decided to write one.
There’s Sunshine Behind the Clouds: Surviving the Early Years as a Special Needs Mom is for every mother of a child with special needs who is at the beginning of the journey, struggling to gain her footing on ever-shifting sands. It focuses on how to not only survive the emotional roller coaster of special needs parenting, but enjoy the ride.
Reviews
“This book was the very first thing that I have read that served to encourage me rather than overwhelm me. I am so grateful for having been able to read it and I really do think that it is a needed and missing piece for moms.” – Julie S.
“I wish I had been given this book in the hospital. It made me laugh, cry, and shake my head agreeing and saying ‘Yup, I have done that.’ I would and will recommend this book to anyone that is new to the “secret society” or as my friend says “the club.” – Kelley Y.
“Definitely a resource I will offer to parents I work with as an Early Intervention Specialist. Those first years are tough and Andi’s work is encouraging and honest from one who has been there, done that–twice!” – Rachel M.
“When I started reading I was already excited to read more. Tastefully written, you could really feel what the author was feeling. It was a pleasure reading.” – Katlyn B.
“Let this be the first book you read when you learn of your child’s diagnosis. It proclaims the first messages that you need to hear – you are not alone; you can find balance in this new and challenging place, there is hope.” – Heather
