Yes, I did it. I went there.
I lured you in with a cute photo of my kid to another post about Stitch Fix. But I got several comments, some private messages, and lots of traffic after my last Stitch Fix post so I thought I’d give it another whirl – especially since Mother’s Day is approaching rapidly and your family might want a gift idea that they can purchase quickly without having to leave the house.
You know I’m right.
I’ve been a Stitch Fix regular for a year now – it was my Mother’s Day gift last year – and I’ve been very happy with the service because, as I said last time, I hate shopping. For my tips on how to make it work for you, check out my previous post. I followed the usual rules for each box:
- Try each item on before I look at the prices.
- Try everything on, even if I think I hate it when it comes out of the box.
- Don’t look in the mirror right away. Show Mr. Andi to see what he thinks, THEN go look in the mirror.
I asked for Kate to be my stylist again – she was new to me last time and I thought she really nailed it – and they obliged. Ready for the verdicts?
Item #1: Elaine Ikat Print Pocket-Front Knit Shirt, Market & Spruce
I know. It looks like a basic t-shirt, and in spirit, it is. But it’s a cool pattern and the fabric is both soft and forgiving. I’ve asked for things I can wear to t-ball games, and this fits the bill. Verdict: Keeping.
Item #2: Kendruh Layered Hem Knit Top, Skies Are Blue
Is it just me, or do I look like I haven’t slept in weeks in these photos? Anywho… I initially thought NO to this top because the color is identical to a shirt I kept in my last Fix, but when I put it on it fit so well that I reconsidered. It honestly isn’t a great choice for spring and summer here because it gets hot so quickly, but we had a cool spell this week and it was great for the nighttime t-ball game, and it’ll work for fall and winter. Verdict: Keeping.
Item #3: Octavia Jolene Zipper Flap Crossbody Bag
Remember last time when I got a handbag that I said I would have LOVED a few months earlier, but didn’t keep? I didn’t ask for another handbag – in fact, I picked up a Michael Kors bag at the outlet during a BIG sale, so I no longer needed a handbag for spring. But then this beauty came and I think I might have squealed when I opened the box.
It’s big enough to hold my bullet journal and other necessities without being too bulky, and it may possibly set a record for number of pockets in a bag of its size and price. I’ll stick with my new MK bag most of the time, but this one will be great for travel, field trips, and any other time I want to be hands-free. Verdict: Keeping.
Item #3: Bucky V Neck Knit Tank Top, Skies Are Blue
It’s hard to believe, looking at these photos, that this top was my favorite item in the box. It screams “cool top for hot days and not clingy” but something about the way I have my shoulders in the photo above makes me look like The Most Uncomfortable Woman in the World. If I weren’t so lazy I’d have Mr. Andi take it again. The “knit tank top” description is a little misleading; it IS knit, but it’s high quality, soft and forgiving. Verdict: Keeping.
We were getting near the end. Daisy couldn’t help but photobomb me.
Item #5: Millie Textured Knit Dress, Pixley
I’ll start off by telling you that Mr. Andi likes this dress. When I walked out wearing it, his exact words were, “I like it. But you won’t.” The man knows me well! The dress is cute, it fit, and it’s comfortable because it’s soft and stretchy. HOWEVER… it was not forgiving to the martini olive. If/when I wear this, I’ll have to have some serious shapewear and/or suck in my stomach The Whole Time. But you know what? Since I had already decided to keep the other four items, keeping the dress meant 20% off of everything…so I did the math and I wasn’t out anything if I decided to keep it. Verdict: Keeping.
When I went to the hair salon on Wednesday, my stylist and I were talking about our recent Fixes (I turned her onto Stitch Fix and she is a huge fan now). I showed her a photo of the dress and she loved it! She wears the same size but is a different body shape so it may work for her. If not, I still got a dress for free. 😉
This post is not sponsored, but if you decide to try Stitch Fix, I’d love it if you would use my referral link! Find it in the sidebar, text links, or by clicking the image below. They do gift cards by email, print-at-home, or delivery by mail (though it’s a bit late for that for Mother’s Day).

This is your best fix yet.
Andi says
I agree! And that includes all the ones I didn’t share on the blog. Kate is fantastic!
Annie says
Well the dress looks great on you. If you’re sucking it in, good job! See it’s the perfect out to dinner dress. You suck it in between the car and the table and then you sit and relax and look adorable!
Andi says
You are so sweet, thank you! And your plan would be a good if I EVER went out to dinner. 😉

Your fix is SO CUTE!! You just look absolutely LOVELY!! StitchFix just sent me a Large Skies Are Blue Bucky V-Neck and it hangs perfectly from the bust down. But, it feels a little loose up top. I contacted SF to find out about the measurements up top, but they don’t have access to them. Is yours by chance a Medium? I’d love to know the measurements if you’d be willing to share. And thank you for sharing the story….the clothes are just adorable, but those fuscia Chuck’s stole my heart!! Cheers!
Andi says
Thank you! My top is a medium, and I’ll be honest…it doesn’t necessarily fit “loose” up top, but the way it’s cut with the back the way it is makes it feel…different than most tanks. Does that make sense? It may be too late for me to help you since I missed this comment until now.
And the Chucks…bought them on a whim (and on sale, to boot) and they are great! They’re like the more casual version of red pumps because they work great as a contrasting accent with so much of what I own!
