NOTE: I’m taking a blogging break this week to rest and regroup for the new year. If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to fill out my reader survey – I’ll share the results with you soon; they’ve been very interesting so far!
Sun-Beams is a collection of links to stories, articles, photos, or videos I have come across that I believe will inspire, inform, or encourage you, as well as my favorite photo posted on my other blog, Violet Film, from the past week.
Song and Daughter Inspire Plans to Celebrate People With Disabilities – If you’re in the greater NYC area, there’s going to be a Disability Pride Parade in your future!
Sweet education on Down syndrome is the icing on the cupcake – In a quest to secure her young daughter’s future, one mom is providing opportunities for many adults.
Parking lot vigilantes abuse woman with ‘invisible’ disability – Yes, there are a lot of people who wrongly park in disabled parking spaces, but this story illustrates why I try the “honey” approach (as opposed to “vinegar”) when I suspect a violation.
Butterfly is half-male, half-female – This story has nothing to do with disabilities, I just thought it was cool. 🙂 It’s sorta-kinda relevant because the butterfly has a chromosomal abnormality.
