School starts on Monday and it’s hard to believe, but … I’m getting a raise! Okay, so not really a raise since I don’t work for anyone, but I’m getting what Mr. Andi called a “Time Raise”. Nathan will be in preschool in an inclusive program five days a week, six hours a day. That’s only one hour shorter than kindergarten!
What shall I do with myself?
The beginning of school will mean an end to scenes like this one.
Sarah Kate is probably happy about that.
Nathan had “meet the teacher” on Wednesday, which was rather anticlimactic because he will have the same teacher and same paraprofessional this year that he had last year. Sarah Kate had “meet the teacher(s)” yesterday, and while visiting her classroom was good, going to the school and recognizing that she really does, despite her insistence to the contrary, need to use her canes at school was the key takeaway from the visit.
Now that the summer is winding down, potty training has been … a mixed bag. He’s still very consistent when he’s at home naked. 🙂 The good news is that the preschool won’t kick him out for not being fully trained, and they’ll reinforce the potty training at school. His teacher and para are confident he’ll get there.
I hope they’re right.
Papa (i.e., my dad) gave Sarah Kate a Fitbit Flex this week. We set her initial daily step goal at 3,000, which will be a stretch but is doable. She walked laps around the living room before bed last night to up her step count. Been there, done that myself. 🙂
The Miracle Marathon starts one month from tomorrow! Have you joined Sarah Kate’s team yet (or formed your own)? Sarah Kate plans to use her Fitbit to track her mileage each day.
The winner of the ARK Giveaway is Christina! And yes, this really is THE Christina from last week’s Snippets. What are the odds? Actually, I know exactly what the odds were because I know how many entries there were. 🙂 But just so you know there was no funny business, I used Random.org to select the winning entry.
Have a great weekend!
