Remember the poltergeist who stole my old lady glasses and then returned them a year-ish later? Well, he must not have liked being outed, because a few days ago I found this:
The “Perfectly Human” post I wrote a few weeks ago for Amy Julia Becker’s blog got picked up by The Huffington Post. If you didn’t get a chance to read it before (or if you just want to see it on HuffPo 🙂 ) you can find it here. It will also be featured in next week’s issue of Huffington magazine.
Our Buddy Walk is tomorrow! I finally registered all of the family! I’m not a total slacker … just mostly one. Join us or donate if you like.
Did you see this happy story making the rounds about Auburn University’s Miss Homecoming? My alma mater, just so you know. War Eagle!
We’ve settled on a Halloween costume ensemble for 2013: Joan of Arc and her horse. I’m reusing the “Juan, soldier of DeSoto” outfit Sarah Kate will be wearing on Monday night in her class production of “European Explorers in the new World” and teaming it with the Harper Lee wig from last year’s famous Alabamians performance (and, of course, a horse costume for Nathan). It’ll look sorta-kinda like I’m a pious Catholic mom but the truth is I’m lazy and cheap. Two birds, one stone?
If you haven’t read Courtney Heigele’s post, “What Fuels the Helicopter?” this week on IEPs, go do it right now. It doesn’t matter if you even know what IEP stands for, it’s a great read.
Update on Sarah Kate’s burn: her leg is healing nicely. She even qualified for a pinch runner at Monday night’s softball game. 😉 She’s been mostly pain-free, we just have to be careful about keeping it protected from dirt, abrasions, and the sun. We’re scheduled to see a neurologist next month about all the rest of it.
Have a great weekend!
