Many of you have asked for updates on Baby Megan, the daughter of Mr. Andi’s cousin who was born last summer with osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease). Well, ask and you shall receive… 🙂 The family was recently profiled by the Associated Press (available on USA Today’s website, ironically…) and the video is embedded below.
For those of you who have just recently tuned in here, I’ll give you a quick recap, but I encourage you to click on the links for more information:
- Baby Megan’s parents were given no hope for her survival, but they refused to abort. Instead of preparing a nursery, they planned for a funeral. They were told not to expect Megan to survive the trauma of childbirth. She went home after a brief hospital stay.
- When Megan was six months old, she was involved in a car accident that left the car totaled and her mother with a broken arm … but she escaped completely unharmed.
At one time, Ryan and Leslie were told that Megan’s life would be measured in minutes or hours – the news report (which is several weeks old now) says months – but in just a few weeks she’ll turn one.
Go, Megan, Go!

I’ve missed the updates… are they no longer blogging?
Andi says
I don’t think it’s intentional – I just think Ryan hasn’t gotten around to it.
