Or dads. 🙂
I’ve had an idea for a new project in the back of my mind for awhile, and finally decided to go for it. My idea? Publish an e-book for parents of children with special needs, geared toward those for whom the diagnosis is still new and whose children are still young. The hardest years for me were from the time Sarah Kate was about ten months old until around age four, and I suspect the same is true for many parents of children with special needs, because it takes some time to adapt and accept the unexpected hand that you have been dealt.
The idea sprang from a brief blog post that I wrote over two years ago that was well received – unless you’re a longtime reader, you likely have never seen it before. I felt I could further expand upon it based upon my experiences as a special needs mom. I won’t be handing out advice on time management or negotiating medical bills, but will instead focus on how to not just survive the emotional roller coaster, but enjoy the ride.
So to keep myself on track with this whole publishing gig, I’m announcing publicly that the book will be released within the next few weeks. Now that I’ve committed, I have to do it, right? 😉
But there’s MORE!
This new e-book will be FREE to anyone who wants to read it or share it. I’m writing it for YOU, the reader, in hopes that it’ll help you on your journey, and if it does, I hope you’ll share it with others that you believe may benefit, as well.
But wait! That’s not all!
I’m looking for a beta reader (or two or three) to review an advance copy and give me some feedback. It’s not a long book and it should be pretty easy for most people to finish it in one sitting (unless, perhaps, they are intensively potty training a three year old). You don’t have to check my grammar, punctuation, or spelling – though if you do spot some things that need fixing, let me know! – I mostly just want your general impression of it before it’s released.
If being a beta reader is something you’d be interested in, fill out the form below. I’ll keep it open for several days and contact you directly by email if you’re chosen. And while you’re here? Let me know what you think about the photo above. I may use it for the cover!
