WOW. People really want to hear from Sarah Kate. When I posted yesterday about her desire to start blogging, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I definely didn’t expect such enthusiasm for the idea. If you haven’t had a chance to read it and comment yet, please do. Sarah Kate is very excited after reading all of the questions and comments.
Her first post is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday.
So far, so good, on the adenotonsillectomy recovery. Nathan doesn’t want to eat a whole lot, his breath stinks, and it’s clear that he doesn’t feel great, but we were told to expect all of that, so no worries. As long as we keep him supplied with Motrin, he’s pretty happy.
Now it’s a waiting game to see if it helps the sleep apnea…
They Were. Not. Kidding about the bad breath. It smells like something DIED. Not the most pleasant experience first thing in the morning when his Motrin has worn off and he just wants to be held.
Remember that pitifully skinny, obviously abused dog named Stella that we adopted? That was one year ago this week.
She’s not so skinny anymore…

If you haven’t yet heard, Google Reader is going away on July 1. For weeks I was in denial – my blog reading time is sacred! – but I think I’m ready to face facts now. I’ll be using Feedly unless a better option presents itself in the next two months. Do you use Google Reader? What are your plans?
I shared the Dove sketch artist video last week…now you get the men’s version. π
And remember Harper Lee from last week? Here she is! I can not stop laughing at this picture.
Harper Lee’s…eccentricities are fairly well known (at least in our area, which is near her home/the town where To Kill a Mockingbird was set/based). I’m not sure if anyone else will think it’s funny, but I can’t stop laughing.
Have a great weekend!

First off, SK is the cutest Harper Lee I have ever seen! She also could play Scout if there were ever a To Kill a Mockingbird remake π
I am so happy that she wants to blog, I think it will help a lot of parents and even other kids understand what it is like to live her normal. I know I always wish I knew what Matt was thinking about his AFOs (other than extreme hate). I can’t wait to read her first post.
Matt had an adenoidectomy a year ago on Valentine’s Day and it was the best thing that ever happened to him. He had moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea and it completely resolved post surgery. The week of the surgery was crazy and he was miserable, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Wow! I went back and forth between those 2 pictures of Stella at least 5 times; she looks amazing!! I adopted my cat a little over 9 months ago (after she had been surrendered to the shelter, spayed, had 6 teeth pulled, and her right eye removed…)and I am still astonished when I see pictures of her then and compare them to how she looks now! When I sent pictures to the shelter, they said that her missing eye is the only way they recognized her π It looks like you have had the same experience with Stella! Now, fingers crossed I can get the terrified kitten I adopted last weekend to the same place of love and contentment.

Mr. Andi said to me just the other day that it’s hard to believe that I brought that poor pitiful wretch home a year ago! She had some issues, to be sure, but she loved us from Day One and that’s what I saw in her. π
