Sun-Beams is a collection of links to stories, articles, photos, or videos I have come across that I believe will inspire, inform, or encourage you, as well as my favorite photo posted on my other blog, Violet Film, from the past week.
The Best Goal (You’ll Never See On a Highlight Reel) – No pity, just encouragement.
The Terminal Cancer Patient Who Won a Marathon -If ever there was an example of “When the going gets tough, the tough get going,” this man is it.
Oregon teen is first person with Down syndrome to reach Mount Everest base camp – I’m pretty sure I couldn’t climb nearly 18,000 ft. Just sayin’.
A cry for Down syndrome understanding – I’ve been asked my opinion on the Ethan Saylor case, and the fact is I’ve been mulling (for weeks, actually) whether to post about it. Of the many articles and blogs post I’ve read, this one reflects my views most closely, though I see some of my thoughts in this one, as well. My bottom line is that lots of folks screwed up, and I think that’s an unfortunate reflection on culture and society.
No Hope for a Cure – I’ve linked to Sarah a lot lately, but it’s because she’s been writing some awesome stuff. 🙂 Don’t miss this latest gem.
