That first story was so sad. I can see both their viewpoints. The audience can’t’ve helped.

When I was in college I did my internship at a special education preschool that practiced “reverse inclusion”. Most of the “typical” kids were kids of teachers or of family members of the teachers, and they were definitely outnumbered in the classrooms. The school was for kids 6 months to 6 years, and working there remains one of my favorite experiences. Especially at that age range, you really see that kids are just kids, and it’s us adults who often get in the way.

I’ve seen a few like you described – most are preschool settings. I think it’s a great program, just wish it was more widespread in the older age groups.
