Last week’s efforts to Spread the Word to End the Word left me, well…speechless! Many of you took the time to take the pledge, share your stories, and most importantly – spread the word.
Following are a few highlights from around the web:
Ellen Seidman’s crusade to end the r-word on Twitter
…And her follow up post about the fallout
Stop Using the Word “Ret-rd” by Jeff Goins
Dear Internet: I’m Putting You on Notice by Redneck Mommy Tanis Miller (from 2009)
My friend Dawn’s food column about how people are like spices
Mr. Andi’s speech to our city council
And finally, my posts on the r-word:
Words
It’s Not About Political Correctness
Thank you so much for your help. We are changing the conversation!

I clicked over to your blog from Top Mom's, doing a search for cerebral palsy. My daughter has it as well, which is why I did the search. She was born 10 weeks preemie, along with her identical twin sister, who was stillborn, and her fraternal sister. I just want to say that watching Sarah Kate makes me happy, and I thought the video of her walking was the most beautiful thing ever. We're still working on getting my daughter (just turned 2) to be able to hold her head up, but she has started doing reciprocal stepping when we hold her arms, so I am hoping she'll some day get there.

I actually cry every time I watch it – and I am the one who put it together (and Mr. Andi can't watch it at all)! Her progress has been slow at times, always incremental, and sometimes seeming to stop altogether, but even now at age 8 she continues to improve. Best of luck with your little one!
